The basics
Be real, be kind, and treat people the way you'd want to be treated at 2AM. Everyone here is an adult looking to discover venues, share their night, and meet people. Keep it that way. These guidelines apply everywhere on the platform — profiles, posts, moments, comments, and direct messages.
What's not allowed
- Harassment & bullying. No targeting, threatening, intimidating, or repeatedly contacting someone who doesn't want it. No unsolicited sexual advances after someone says no. No coordinated pile-ons.
- Hate. No attacks, slurs, or dehumanizing content based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
- Sexual content & nudity. No nudity, pornographic content, or sexually explicit imagery. Keep profile photos and posts appropriate for a public nightlife feed.
- Non-consensual & intimate content. Never share intimate images of someone without their consent, and never share or threaten to share private content to harm someone.
- Doxxing & privacy. No posting anyone's private information — home address, phone number, workplace, or location — without their consent. Don't out people or expose them to harm.
- Scams & spam.No financial scams, “sugar” or cash-app solicitations, fake giveaways, phishing, paid promotion without disclosure, or mass unsolicited messaging.
- Minors. 2AM is 18+. No one under 18 is allowed, and any sexual content involving minors — real or simulated — is reported to authorities and results in an immediate permanent ban.
- Illegal activity & danger. No drug sales, weapons sales, trafficking, prostitution, violence, self-harm promotion, or anything illegal.
- Impersonation & fakes. No pretending to be someone else, no fake profiles, no bots, and no misrepresenting your age or identity.
How we enforce — the ladder
We weigh the severity, intent, and history behind each violation. Most enforcement follows a ladder, but serious harm skips straight to the top:
- Content removal. The violating post, photo, comment, or message is taken down.
- Warning. We notify you and explain what crossed the line.
- Feature limits. Temporary restrictions on posting, messaging, or matching.
- Temporary suspension. Your account is paused for a set period.
- Permanent ban. For severe or repeated violations, your account is removed for good.
Severe violations — including content sexualizing minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats of violence, and trafficking — result in an immediate permanent ban and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement.
How to report
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it — it's the fastest way to keep 2AM safe.
- Tap the ⋯ menu on any profile, post, comment, or message and choose Report or Block.
- For anything urgent or safety-related, email safety@2am.social.
- If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Reports are confidential. We review them and act on violations. Filing knowingly false reports to harass others is itself a violation.
Appeals
If you think we got an enforcement decision wrong, you can appeal by emailing support@2am.social with your account details and what happened. We'll take another look.
